LGC Net Zero aims to provide strategies and solutions for councils and companies aiming to hit green targets
SmartCarbon Managing Director, Lee Jackson, will be speaking at the inaugural LGC Net Zero 2024 conference on Thursday 20th June. Held at Factory Works Birmingham, the event is designed to explore innovative solutions to the most pressing challenges preventing local governments from achieving their Net Zero targets.
Councils and organisations from across the UK will also speak, and Lee will be sharing the stage with Gateshead Council to outline how the two organisations are working together to expand Scope 3 reporting. SmartCarbon will also be exhibiting at the event.
What is LGC?
LGC Net Zero offers a platform for those leading the movement towards Net Zero in local councils, creating an open environment for leaders to come together, discuss challenges, and share solutions.
The pursuit of Net Zero targets is now more critical than ever, and this urgency requires council leaders and climate change officers to meet face-to-face, address key concerns and discover viable solutions. Having worked with several local councils and bodies, including Sunderland and Gateshead Councils, SmartCarbon is thrilled to be taking the stage with Gateshead Council at LGC Net Zero 2024.
We will be covering our role in the UK’s progress towards Net Zero 2050, exploring how efforts are impacting the public sector. In particular, we will be sharing insights into the work being done with the likes of Newcastle Hospitals Trust on expanding Scope 3 reporting.
