Innovative Approaches to Net Zero Challenges showcased at Festival.

Sara Davies and Anna-Lisa Mills

In July, our MD, Anna-Lisa Mills, ran an innovation sprint with Newcastle Upon Tyne NHS Foundation’s Business Innovation Manager, Charlotte Fox, on the challenges for #NetZero in the Healthcare sector. The tools in SmartCarbon’s carbon calculator, which were used at The Newcastle Upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust was showcased as an example of innovative thinking. The supply chain feature was of great interest to the audience.

The sprint was part of Northumbrian Water Group’s Innovation Festival 22 which returned bigger and better than before, with leading entrepreneur Sara Davies MBE opening the festival and sharing her inspirational journey. Sara was interested in finding out about all the innovative work on show at the festival and even stopped for a selfie!

It’s been a busy period for the SmartCarbon team as we’ve been requested to speak at several events, such as Venture Fest 2022 and the Reset Connect Conference. As organisations look for answers to help them on their net zero journeys, SmartCarbon is playing an increasingly important role.

“There is a lot of interest in the work we’ve been doing to unpick the complexities of carbon measurement and reporting across all sectors,” said Anna-Lisa “Sara Davie’s story showed what commitment, belief and passion can do, and it’s these same qualities I see in all of my colleagues at SmartCarbon, and we strive to instil this in all our customers and stakeholders.”
