How does it work?
The project involves a simple 3-step process:
1. Learn and commit
Nominated carbon champion to complete our Northumbria University approved one-day training course. The course explains how to calculate and report the carbon footprint of your organisation. The process can be based on recognised methodologies, such as the internationally recognised Greenhouse Gas Protocol. (Cost £275 + VAT per person).
2. Calculate and report
Using our SmartCarbon Calculator web-based platform. Based on the Greenhouse Gas Protocol and using the latest UK Government Conversion factors and international energy agency factors where relevant. (Cost for licence to use SmartCarbonCalculator varies depending on number of employees, number of premises and if all UK based or international).
3. Act to reduce emissions
Offset 10% of your scope 1 and 2 emissions via woodland creation in line with the Woodland Carbon Code. (Cost depends on size of footprint.)
